How do I calculate board foot, you ask?

Easy Peasy!

​

Say you need a  2" x 4" x 8'

Multiply the inches together.

(Don't forget to turn your feet in length into inches)

So:

2 x 4 x 96 = 768

​

Now divide it by 144

Which gives you the board foot.

In this case, it's 5.333

(we count this as 5 board feet)
